SHOWING UP
This picture is one of the many that I capture during sunrise. Lot has been written about the sun .About it's warmth, light , radiance, heat, color.
On this day when I saw the sunrise I had a realization. One concept that we learn from our childhood was of directions. And after that we were taught that sun rises in the east and sets in the west. As we grow up we hear rise with the sun , keep rising like the sun. And on this day it dawned on me that actually the sun never rises . It has always been a stationary ball of fire , emitting light and heat. It never rises nor does it set. It is always there. it is the movement of the earth that gives us the different phases of sun.
So now the role of sun was not only about giving light and warmth and heat and energy, it was also to be stationary. Being like sun had a different meaning now. It was about having an unmoving core. Core which is solid and strong. Outside we may be flexible ,sometimes giving heat -more high on emotion, or giving warmth - all embracing. And inside the core of our values is strong , unmoving and stationary.
It is this quality of sun that became my base point , my prime point. Though this would have been a very obvious thing to notice ,it became a big insight for me. Going forward I started to work harder to make my inner core stronger. Physically also we understand that a strong core keeps us healthy. I started to work on my stronger core. To have unshakable faith in my own self to be able to remain firmly grounded in my value system.
To be so solid in my principle as to help others build a foundation of their values. Also showing on the other hand that how my strong values have mad me flexible, that I embrace everyone without any discrimination, just as the sunlight falls on and lights everything without discrimination. Another quality is showing up everyday helping to energise everyone with my radiance.
